The oil change has been made very difficult by having to remove or loosen the exhaust to change the oil filter. Perf-Form has developed a very dealer and customer friendly option, we relocate the oil filter, which also allows us to add an oil cooler (HD-CXS) as an added benefit.
Benefits: Easier, cleaner, faster and Less expensive oil changes. Longer oil life = longer motor life. Billet Aluminum Stainless braided oil lines. 15 degrees temp drop with Spin-On Filter.
Adding the HD-CXS cooler/filter: Temp drop of 25 degrees with Spin-On Cooler Filter. Increased filter size by 30%. Billet aluminum. Cooler/filter or spin-on filter sold separately. Suggested filters Perf-Form HD-2, or HD-CXS Filter/Cooler. Harley Davidson Sportster or Evolution filters (63805-80A / 63796-77A)
OIL FILTER FITMENT UPDATE! If you are having an oil filter sealing issue you need to get an updated ' short spud' Oil filters industry-wide have changed the depth of the threaded plate of the filter in relation to the gasket sealing surface. This causes the plate to bottom out on the original threaded spud of the YVS-C kit preventing proper sealing pressure on the gasket. If your YVS-C filter mount has a threaded 'spud' with a hex around the base it needs to be replaced with the 'short spud' found on the Yamaha application page.
